Daniel Hotel, Herzliya, Israel – Beware the Hotel is a Cheat

April 1, 2014 By Travel Magazine Tagged With: Beware the Hotel is a Cheat, Daniel Hotel, Herzliya, Herzliya Daniel Hotel, Israel

I booked weekend in Herzliya Daniel Hotel through travel agent to celebrate a family anniversary. At the check-in the hotel receptionist told us bluntly: “You paid for the room in the dilapidated part of the building. If you don’t want your vacation turn into nightmare, pay for room upgrade”. Though it sounded like extortion (and extortion it is) I paid to avoid ruining a family occasion. I got a shabby room with the view to the next cement box of a hotel. The room was not very clean. We went to hotel’s swimming pool. After waiting 20 minutes in the line to access swimming pool we were asked to bring our IDs. So we have to return to our room to get our IDs and wait in line again while “towel police” checked out every guest. Accessing swimming pool was a long and humiliating experience. The swimming pool was not worth all the trouble, dirty and overcrowded. The hotel food was blunt and uninspiring. Service is non-existent, rude personnel. The only good thing about this hotel is location. Avoid this hotel.
