Seventh Annual Tourism Event Features Collection of 3D Trick Art, Japan’s Latest Artistic Trend

Visitors and commuters who pass through Grand Central Station are set to experience the very latest in Japanese culture and as the seventh annual Japan Week takes place in Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal from March 14-17, 2018.

Japan Week is a free event that is open to the public. The event features eighteen exhibits showcasing Japanese travel, food, culture and more. This year’s featured attraction includes seven works of 3D Trick Art. An artistic trend in Japan, Trick art is a large-scale interactive work of art that seemingly adds a third dimension, creating the illusion that the depicted objects really exist. Visitors to Japan Week will be encouraged to “step into” each work of 3D Trick Art and take the ultimate selfie. Ultimate selfie opportunities can be found at this year’s event’s entrance where a huge 3D Trick Art of Hiroshima’s Itsukushima Shrine is placed. A further 6 3D Trick Art panels of various Japanese summer festivals and Sumo wrestlers can also be found within the event hall.

Visitors to Japan Week can receive free Japanese tourism materials and expert travel tips while experiencing the arts, merchandise and culture of Japan.
