“Nanjing Week” entered the Museum of Anthropology in Paris

China Nanjing Exhibition on the Revival of the Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage and Paris-Nanjing Museum Cultural and Creative Industry Forum open

At 2 p.m. on October 25, Paris time, “Inherit the Intelligent Creation — China Nanjing Exhibition on the Revival of the Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage” was unveiled at the Paul Rivet Hall in the Museum of Anthropology in Paris, according to “Nanjing Week” Organizing Committee. The exhibition is one of the important activities of “Nanjing Week” Paris Station and an important continuation of the achievements of the 8th Nanjing Historical and Cultural City Expo. The exhibition takes the unique materials and construction methods of the East as the entry point. Through the 49 pieces of Nanjing works, it shows that Chinese understanding of the natural materials and unique treatment methods in the process of human culture development.

At the opening ceremony, Xu Bowen, a core member of the curatorial team and an associate professor of the School of Industrial Design of Nanjing University of the Art, gave a live tour to the guests and media. The exhibition is designed according to the venue, and compared the traditional craft with the modern design works. It made audience concentrate on the view, as a garden party.

In the afternoon, Paris-Nanjing Museum Cultural and Creative Industry Forum was held in the Roche conference room at the museum. Delphine Crocq, Director of Marketing, Development and Quality Division of Musée d’Orsay and Musée de l’Orangerie, Huang Chen, Director of Nanjing Museum, Adrien JOLY, Director of European and Mediterranean Civilization Museum Resources Development Department, Chen Weiguo, Director of China Shizhuzhai Art Museum, Zhang Chengying, Deputy Director of Nanjing Museum, Aurélie Legoff, Director of Marketing and Products Division of Grand Palace, National Museum of France, Feng Jiahong, Director of China Imperial Examination Museum, Claire de Cointet, Director of the Publishing Department of the Centre Pompidou, Wang Xinxin, director of the Porcelain Tower of Nanjing Site Museum, and Ma Lili, executive director of the Suning Museum of Art, made keynote speeches. During the period, local students and designers from Paris interacted with the speakers.

The forum is an attempt by the Nanjing local museums to “go global” after the first Museum Directors Forum held during the 8th Nanjing Historical and Cultural City Expo. Through face-to-face dialogues with representatives of well-known museums in Paris, the museum’s historical context is passed on, and the museum’s collection through the development of cultural and creative industries has an impact on people’s contemporary cultural life.
