Qiandao Lake is a Hit on Christmas

January 2, 2018 By Travel Magazine Tagged With: Bamboo Horse Dancing, Qiandao Lake, Zhuma

This Christmas, Qiandao Lake Scenic Tourism Committee in Chun’an, Zhejiang Province invited 20 international participants from 8 countries to spend an exciting, joyful Christmas stay at Qiandao Lake. On the two-day trip, 20 international guests experienced cycling alongside the lake, enjoying the scenery from the best perspective. Right by the lake, they enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of the location and a meal of Earthen Pot Fish Head Soup served with craft beer.

Chinese cuisine

The exciting karting race by the lake was also very popular. The guests got a chance to experience “Zhuma”, an intangible cultural heritage of Chun’an, in Wenyuan Lion Castle. On Christmas Eve, all of them exchanged their gifts and best wishes to each other, singing and dancing. Though far away from home, they still maintained a family-like warmth at Qiandao Lake.

Watch ‘Bamboo Horse Dancing’, the Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritages, which is called to promote this traditional custom around the world.

‘Bamboo Horse Dancing’ has been originated from the later period of Yuan Dynasty and the former of Qing Dynasty, which is not only one of the most representative folk dances in Zhejiang Province, but also one of the most important custom for people to celebrate the Chinese Spring Festival.
