I’ve made a mistake of spending £620 at Specsavers Strand on eyeglasses for myself and my wife while visiting London. We were bluntly lied about non-existing service and grossly overcharged. Out of four eyeglasses ordered, one was clearly defective. No quality control at all, the defects are so obvious that this item would not be shipped if they have even a minimal QC.
No reply on my complaint about defective item for weeks. Then long and meaningless correspondence with some illiterate clerk who has memory capacity of fish (remembers only 30 last seconds). Then phone conversation with the outlet director Mr. Linay who agreed to compensate £170 plus postage upon receiving back the defective item. I sent back the defective item, got confirmation of mail service that the item has been delivered. No compensation, no reaction whatsoever, no reply to emails, calls, nothing , nada.
Stay away! It’s a scam, clear and loud. I wonder it goes for entire franchise-based chain or this particular outlet. If the problem were only with the Strand outlet, they would be stripped out of franchise long time ago.
